This app idea was created to encourage community building through cultural activities. The app's design and prototyping started in December 2022, followed by research on logistics, business strategies, advertising, and promotion. The app was designed and prototyped in Figma.
This app idea was created to encourage community building through cultural activities. The app's design and prototyping started in December 2022, followed by research on logistics, business strategies, advertising, and promotion. The app was designed and prototyped in Figma.
This app provides information about local cultural events, clubs, restaurants, and educational services. Initially designed to cater to Caribbean culture in the 5 boroughs, the app concept can be expanded to include as many cultures as possible. Similar to travel plan booking apps, "Adorning Culture" would advertise various local and reasonably priced ways of experiencing a particular culture. In the app, you can make a profile that includes what culture you align with as well as other cultures you may be curious about and want an education in. The app would include categories like Events, Food (restaurants & recipes), Small Businesses, Celebrations, Music/ Art, and Language. Lastly, the homepage features a newsletter with recent events, a “word of the day” for a language of interest and new recipes.
